Congratulations to Parth Sastry on successfully defending his Engineering and Applied Science (EAS) PhD thesis proposal titled ‘Mesoscale Eddies and Tracer Transports into the Eastern Tropical Pacific Oxygen Deficient Zone’. The defense involved a 45-minute public talk, and was followed by a closed-room discussion with his advisor (Prof. Amit Tandon) and his committee members – Prof. Mark Altabet (DEOS-SMAST, UMassD), Prof. Geoff Cowles (DFO-SMAST, UMassD), and Dr. Eric D’Asaro (APL, UW).
Parth previously wrote and passed his EAS-CSE comprehensive exam and is now a PhD candidate in the EAS department. Congratulations Parth!
